Art HIRAHARA: Central Line

After the album “Libations & Meditations” (January 2015) we find again the American pianist Art Hirahara; First-class bass player Linda Oh accompanies him again with a new drummer, this time: Rudy Royston. As in the subway, the musicians get on and off the train at many different stations. By all means, Mr. Hirahara can express himself with exquisite sensibility either in a trio, a solo ( Kuroda Bushi, Introspect, Tracing The Line, Yuyake Koyake) or in a quartet, when joined by the great saxophonist Donny McCaslin. the variety of languages in this high-quality record, definitely contributes to brighten the beginning of the new year.
